The plan was to take a ride with friends on the Essex Coastal Scenic Byway starting in Lynn and heading to Rockport. We would stop and take pictures when we see something interesting. A mural caught our eye, and we found there was dozens of them as part of Beyond Walls.

I had never spent any time in Lynn before and was so taken with the beauty of the murals. This mural was across the street from the community garden. A beautiful patchwork of color.
There were about two dozen murals painted for the 2018 festival. This is on top of a similar number painted for the 2017 festival. There is a map of all the locations. These are some of my favorites.
